What Is Work Readiness?
Work Readiness Services prepare participants to excel in their abilities to successfully obtain and maintain competitive integrated employment.
Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor (VR) approves these services related to disability issues, interpersonal skills training, daily living skills, and issues that interfere with obtaining or maintaining employment to support customers in achieving work readiness. Work Readiness Services benefits customers who have never worked, have not worked for a long time, or have a sporadic work history, and it prepares customers for successful employment so that they can manage or address vocational impairments and be self-sufficient. |
How is Work Readiness Services Offered?
WES offers Work Readiness Services in groups and individually. The services may be held at the WES Employment Training Facility or within the community. To meet the maturity and educational levels and safety needs of customers that are served in a group setting, WES may designate groups exclusively for Pre-Employment Transition Services (Pre-ETS), that is, students who have disabilities and who are 22 or younger.
